July 4th, The Independence Day or United States of America’s Birthday, this Federal Celebration is, perhaps, the most important National Day of our Calendar.
But why it is that important?
That day, in 1776, a new Nation was born. Citizens agreed to separate from the Great Britain, declaring they were no longer under the rules of King George,
The Third. Who were the protagonists of the written declaration?
Four important men, known as The Founding Fathers: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson (Also, the third President of The USA and the inventor of the macaroni and cheese) were responsible for writing the Declaration of Independence, stating our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
It was until June 28th 1870 that Fourth of July became a Federal Holiday and so, the most important date on the country’s calendar. Ever since, Americans celebrate this special day with many different activities, like picnics, parades, hot dogs, hamburgers, and of course, fireworks! The most fabulous firework display takes place in New York City, but you can enjoy it all over the country, where more than 13.000 firework lights illuminate our night sky.
It is a day for grilling and barbecuing, and obviously for drinking, and nothing like holding your favorite beverage in your koozie. Eating and having a great day with family and friends on July Fourth is wonderful, but to be honest, it is even better if your drinks are really cold, considering that our Independence Day is celebrated during a real hot season of the year. So, don’t forget your personalized July Fourth koozies next time you grill or barbecue on our Nation’s most important Holiday!
